So what is Inspector Graduate? How did it all start? And who started it?
As the name suggests, Inspector Graduate is source of guidance and support for graduates which aims to investigate the infinite number of options they have once they’re thrown into the real world.
When I graduated back in 2011 I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do but felt an immense pressure to figure it out (mostly from my parents). Gaining a 2;1 in Marketing from the University of Liverpool, I pretty much thought I’d secured myself a place on some kind of graduate scheme in London. But the reality was very different. I ended up applying to countless numbers of jobs whilst claiming Job Seeker’s Allowance and even did un-paid work.
As time progressed, the stop-gap at home turned into a much longer-term thing and I realised I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. I sought out support from various government bodies as well as the Careers Service at Liverpool University but it became evident that no one was going to hold my hand through this.
And that’s how Inspector Graduate came to be; born out of the lack of guidance and support on post-university life, Inspector Graduate is there to guide you through your options once the university bubble bursts.
